WordWrite Communications, a Pittsburgh-based public relations and social media agency, is using its knowledge in successful business social media implementation to partner with the Pittsburgh Business Times and Joseph-Beth Booksellers for the first-ever Pittsburgh Business Tweetup.
In August 2009, WordWrite and the Business Times, along with Point Park University, co-hosted #journchat LIVE Pittsburgh, where the weekly Twitter chat “came to life” live across seven cities and PR professionals, bloggers and journalists discussed relevant trends in social media.
This year, the organizations are partnering again to host a similar event, but open to all area professionals who use social media in their day-to-day business operations. The Pittsburgh Business Tweetup will take place Friday, September 17 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at Joseph-Beth Booksellers in Southside Works, Pittsburgh. Lauren Lawley Head, editor of the Pittsburgh Business Times will moderate the discussion.
Some of the topic questions the networking event will discuss include:
- How have you used social media to increase your business?
- What has been your biggest challenge in implementing social media?
- How much time do you devote each week to social media?
- How do you measure the ROI of your social media efforts?
The tweetup will be live-tweeted on Twitter and streamed live on Ustream. Follow the discussion of live tweets by following the hashtag #pghbiztu or watch the live feed at http://www.ustream.tv/user/wordwritepr. Attendees are encouraged to tweet via their cell phones and laptops using the hashtag during the event (free WiFi will be provided).
