My Inbound Marketing Bucket List: Visiting HubSpot and Lunch with the Academy Team

Words can’t describe how amazing my recent trip to Boston was, visiting HubSpot’s headquarters in Cambridge, complete with lunch with nearly the entire Academy Team! The passion that’s conveyed from each of them in their certification and continuing educational videos is clearly expressed in person as I found firsthand last Friday. HubSpot headquarters visit

The company is situated in a very neat spot in downtown Cambridge, nearly encompassing three of four floors in the building. Needless to say, HubSpot is growing so fast that they’re truly taking over the entire building! From the natural brick-lined walls to the abundance of skylights throughout, the HubSpot headquarters showcases a truly fascinating work environment. You can gauge the collaboration in the very open, modern workspace, but of course there are private webinar rooms nestled throughout the area for filming the certification videos and webinars we’re all too familiar with.

I’m greeted when I walk in the reception area by Sarah Papachristos, our HUG manager, with a HubSpot orange box in hand, unbelievably generously sending me home with HubSpot swag and the nicest handwritten card from the entire Academy Team. I LOVE THEM.

We then begin a tour of the headquarters, where I can see everything first hand: from the unique and modern workspaces to the overly stocked kitchen, even a private nap room. HubSpot’s offices are just as unique and innovative as their inbound marketing methodology (yes, I warned you, I’m THAT big of a HubSpot nerd!).

After an extensive tour, the bulk of the Academy Team took me to lunch at a nearby restaurant in Cambridge. We’re talking picking the brains one-on-one with Mark Kilens, Chris LaDolce, Nick Sal, Lindsay Thibeault, and of course Rachel Goodman who just presented at the last Pittsburgh HUG meetup (which reminds me – have you registered for the upcoming meetup in Pittsburgh yet?)! It was an great conversation to talk inbound marketing with some of the greatest pioneers of the tools out there! They shared some important pointers (some of which I was so excited about that I’ve already begun implementing for WordWrite), but they also showed some genuine interest in my thoughts on the platform. Overall, truly remarkable conversation, food and company – a day I’ll never forget!

I was able to meet with a few other contacts of ours back at the office before bidding adieu to the team that afternoon. What an amazing experience the HubSpot team gave me, one of which I’m extremely grateful for. Of course, now I’m even more ramped up for INBOUND14 – is it September yet?
