WordWrite CEO discusses presentation at Entrepreneur’s Growth Conference
Paul Furiga, president and CEO of Pittsburgh public relations agency WordWrite Communications, was recently featured on American Entrepreneur Radio and interviewed by Susanne Caplan for “An Inside Look at the Upcoming Entrepreneur’s Growth Conference.” Furiga, a presenter at the conference, discussed how social media usage is an effective public relations tool because it is an affordable and useful way to reach your targeted audience.
Called a “master of public relations” by Caplan, Furiga’s approach to PR focuses on making his clients heroes in their own great, untold stories; achievable through the combination of social media and traditional PR tactics.

Furiga believes social media provides business owners with the opportunity to have a real-time dialog with their customers and prospects by opening the lines of communication. Social media has become important because it provides immediate feedback, an opportunity to engage customers, and eventually a relationship between the communicator and the audience.
“Social media fuels the public relations process by using word-of-mouth marketing, one of the most powerful communication tools available,” said Furiga. ” It allows entrepreneurs to harness the opinions of industry leaders and effectively focus on what is important to their business or issue, letting people be brought together in a positive environment and engaged in the customer base in a ‘real and relatable way’.”
WordWrite effectively employs social media for its own clients. Most recently, the agency helped a senior living community tell its story through Twitter and Facebook to increase its annual spring fundraising donations.
Furiga presented at the Entrepreneur’s Growth Conference on Thursday, June 10 at Duquesne University. His presentation, “Why PR is More Important—and More Affordable Than Ever: How Social Media & Online Networks Are Changing The Game” was with Jami Broom of Clicks Internet Marketing.
