PRSA Pittsburgh Names Christy Goodman Public Service Chair

The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Pittsburgh Chapter has named WordWrite Communications’ Senior Account Executive Christy Goodman Public Service Committee Chair.

In her new role as Public Service Committee Chair, Goodman will take the lead effort on contributing time and expertise from members of the PRSA Pittsburgh Chapter to the service of a local nonprofit organization in support of their public relations and communications efforts. On behalf of PRSA Pittsburgh, Goodman is excited to help raise awareness for a cause vitally important to our region.

Goodman has long had a passion for volunteerism, exemplified best by the work she does with her therapy-certified dog, Chief. Since Chief’s adoption four years ago, he and Christy have been visiting patients in various hospitals and nursing homes, giving comfort to those in need. Christy is eager to extend this passion to her work in the public relations industry as she represents both WordWrite Communications and the PRSA Pittsburgh Chapter.

“The PRSA Pittsburgh Chapter has an impressive history of working with the local community. I’m looking forward to learning more about Pittsburgh nonprofits and using my public relations experience to contribute to the good they do in our region,” said Goodman.

Goodman earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a concentration in public relations and a minor in leadership from Franklin College near Indianapolis. At WordWrite, she is responsible for creating and sharing the great stories of her clients through media relations, content development and strategic communications. In addition to having worked on award-winning campaigns in media relations and social media, she is the Pittsburgh HubSpot User Group (HUG) leader, hosting quarterly educational and networking events around Pittsburgh.
