Redstone Highlands Senior Living Communities Takes Fundraising Online

WordWrite assists client with implementation of new social media initiative

Pittsburgh PR agency WordWrite Communications continues to help its clients integrating social media into their communications. WordWrite’s newest project is helping client Redstone Highlands Senior Living Communities establish an online presence for its annual spring fundraising outreach.

Barbara Christner

With assistance from WordWrite, Redstone built a presence on Facebook in 2009, connecting with residents’ families, employees and the community. From Redstone’s Facebook page, it’s easy to keep up with events, activities, day trips and more at the three Redstone campuses in Westmoreland County. After its success with Facebook, Redstone worked with WordWrite to develop a YouTube channel. Now, Redstone’s social media presence has expanded to Twitter, where it is using social media to explore the opportunities in online fundraising.

Each spring, Redstone conducts traditional outreach through direct mail and phone calls for Redstone’s Benevolent Care Fund, which supports residents who have outlived their personal financial resources. In the first two weeks of this year’s campaign, which includes Redstone’s @RedstoneFor30 Twitter identity, Redstone has raised $6,000 in its “Redstone For 30” campaign. The goal is to raise $30,000 in honor of Redstone’s 30th anniversary.
