For the past couple weeks, WordWrite has been celebrating what makes Pittsburgh a special place. In the spirit of provincial pride, the team took a minute or two to discuss what they thought made Pittsburgh great and featured the #Passion4PGH on our blog and social media channels. In keeping with that spirit, this week’s Wrap is taking the opportunity to highlight and celebrate some Pittsburgh-related good news around the city.
Peduto asks for rule change on ride-sharing operations
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Anyone who has ever tried to get a cab in Pittsburgh knows what a chore it can be. Waits can be very long, and often it’s impossible to get a cab at all. Hopefully, change is here. With the arrival of ride-sharing operations Lyft and Uber have come to Pittsburgh and should make it easier to get around. This is welcome news to a great many Pittsburghers who have been stranded without rides on East Carson in the wee hours of the morn.
Who like Pittsburgh? The answer shows up in low office vacancy rates
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Downtown Pittsburgh’s desirability as a place to do business has been affirmed by a recent Colliers International survey. Office vacancy rates are one of the lowest in the country! Our beautiful downtown has already turned the corner as a cultural hub and nightlife destination, so it truly is the region’s best place to live, work and play.
Hays bald eagles are expecting
Tribune-Review
The ‘bald-eagle fever’ that charged up and down the Mon last year caught fire again this week as the pair began incubating their second egg in as many years. Environmentalists and bird watchers are thrilled because this conspicuous return of wildlife to the region signals a cleaner, more hospitable river valley. After decades of industrial pollution, Pittsburgh is cleaning up and we’ve got the birds to prove it.
Pittsburgh is really turning the corner on what seems to be another renaissance and everyone here at WordWrite is thrilled to be here for it. Take a look at the WordWriters’ #Passion4PGH blogs and as always, please share your thoughts and comments. Don’t forget to let us know why you are passionate about Pittsburgh!
