WordWrite Communications, one of Pittsburgh’s fastest growing public relations and social media agencies, has hired Pittsburgh marketing and sales professional Alison Frederick as director of business development.
Frederick comes to WordWrite after serving as president of Frederick Marketing Group, a marketing consulting firm. Frederick has more than 20 years experience in business-to-business marketing and communications, mainly in technology.
She has held marketing director positions with insurance software provider Ebix (formerly Acclamation Systems, Inc.) and Carnegie Mellon University start-up Wisdom Technologies. Frederick also worked on product messaging and marketing communications at IBM, after the acquisition of Pittsburgh technology firm Transarc Corporation.
At WordWrite, Frederick will handle new business acquisition for the B2B firm, which specializes in helping clients to share their great, untold stories by using every tool in the PR toolbox, including inbound marketing, social media and media relations.
“Alison brings a great blend of experience as a proven business developer who also understands the agency business,” said Paul Furiga, president and CEO of WordWrite. “We’re delighted to have a pro on the team who has been an agency client and understands what companies need from their agencies.”
Frederick holds B.A. degrees in English and Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh. She also holds an MBA in marketing from the University of Pittsburgh. She began her career as an associate producer for WPXI-TV.
