Agency competes against top area PR firms, brings home three awards

WordWrite Communications, one of Pittsburgh’s fastest growing public relations agencies, was recognized with three awards for outstanding work at the 2010 PRSA Pittsburgh Renaissance Awards at the University of Pittsburgh’s University Club in Oakland on January 21. The Renaissance Awards honor the best public relations campaigns and tactics as well as honor the region’s most celebrated communicators.
WordWrite received awards in the categories of social media, executive communications and internal communications.
WordWrite received a Renaissance Award in the social media category for the campaign “Regency Tweets into the G-20.” WordWrite helped Regency Global Transportation Group, which was responsible for the transport of many world leaders during the G-20, establish its Twitter identity by using real-time traffic tweets to alert the Pittsburgh community of security-caused traffic situations.
In the executive communications category, WordWrite was honored with an award of merit for a sustainability report created for client Florida Power & Light (FPL) Group. WordWrite infused the spirit and standards of the Global Reporting Initiative into a report that shares the FPL sustainability story through a compelling narrative and design showcasing FPL Group’s achievements.
WordWrite took its second award of merit in the internal communications category for communicating the merger of Possis Medical, Inc. into MEDRAD, Inc. Thanks to an effective communications strategy by WordWrite, MEDRAD’s human resources and communications professionals were able to successfully integrate Possis employees into the new processes, programs and culture at MEDRAD.
