WordWrite Communications, a strategic communications consulting firm, is sponsoring the 2013 Silk Screen Asian American Film Festival, which takes place May 10-19 at the Pittsburgh Filmmakers theaters. WordWrite will assist in planning and executing public relations to grow the film festival’s audience.

WordWrite’s public relations strategy will focus on expanding media coverage beyond the Pittsburgh market through the use of social media tactics. WordWrite developed a similar strategy for Silk Screen last October for the promotion of the Silk Scream Asian Horror Film Fest.
“WordWrite is proud to partner with an organization such as Silk Screen that makes people aware of the great cultural diversity in modern cinema,” said Paul Furiga, President and CEO of WordWrite. “With each of its film festivals, Silk Screen is creating newfound appreciation for the Asian American culture in Pittsburgh. We are excited to help spread awareness and knowledge of Silk Screen throughout the Pittsburgh region and beyond.”
The Silk Screen Asian American Film Festival showcases films and filmmakers from India, Japan, China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, Iran and more. Since its debut in 2006, the film festival has continued to draw more attendees from around the country each year. In addition to screening films, the festival highlights a wide range of groups and organizations from the Pittsburgh Asian American community.
