WordWrite hires Duquesne University communication student for its spring internship

PITTSBURGH (December 15, 2019) – Beginning in January, WordWrite will bring on Duquesne University third-year senior, Sydney Beam, as its 2020 Spring Intern. Beam is majoring in Integrated Marketing Communications and Political Science. She has prior experience in start-up, non-profit and corporate media communications.

At WordWrite, Beam will curate social media content, conduct client research, write press releases and media pitches and assist with identifying local and national reporters. She will also help the agency as it continues to launch its own marketing initiatives.

Prior to WordWrite, Beam worked as a digital marketing intern for the local start-up, Spand-Ice, where she supervised all social media platforms and created content such as newsletters and sales blasts for potential and current consumers. She then pursued digital design at Heritage Coal & Natural Resources, where she led a rebranding campaign that included a complete redesign of the company website and social media accounts. Finally, Beam was able to gain experience in the non-profit sector as a marketing intern for the Pittsburgh Youth Chorus. She helped develop unique fundraising campaigns and prepared both digital and traditional marketing materials for the organization.
