Pittsburgh (August 28, 2019) – After more than two years of delivering compact, 100-word stories to subscribers, The Pittsburgh 100 is upping its word count through a new venture: podcasting.
The P100 Podcast, the audio companion to the digital newsletter published by public relations agency WordWrite, is a biweekly show featuring four, five-minute segments on the region’s news, culture and history. Hosted by WordWrite CEO Paul Furiga, brand journalist Dan Stefano, and account coordinator Logan Armstrong, the podcast will also welcome various Pittsburgh personalities and more guests to give their expert take on a wide variety of topics.
Debuting Aug. 27, the P100 Podcast’s first episode takes a look at the upcoming Labor Day weekend, highlighting the special relationship between Pittsburgh and labor, the hosts’ excitement for a returning food festival, and a discussion about the city’s love for football and its effect on the region’s culture. The episode is topped off with a chat about Pittsburgh’s history as a hotbed for musicians, as well as an introduction to a rising star in the city, hip-hop artist Pick Patek — and stay tuned all the way to the end to listen to one of his singles.
The Pittsburgh 100 is a biweekly newsletter emailed to more than 35,000 subscribers and is one of 23 such publications in a network established by Atlanta-based The 100 Companies. Designed to be a quick read of 15, 100-word stories (no more, no less), The Pittsburgh 100 features stories about local news and culture, along with business advice. It also gives businesses and individuals a platform to share their own stories.
